First Date

I’m in my mid twenties and I have been pushing off dating for long enough. I just wasn’t ready and I think that is a good enough excuse. But I decided that it was time to bite the bullet and give it a shot. So I did.

My first date was not at all how I imagined it.

I thought the conversation would be awkward. But it wasn’t.
I thought the situation would make me nervous. But it didn’t.

I thought the experience would be unnatural. But it wasn’t.
I thought that dating would feel different. But it didn’t.

I thought the evening would be exciting. But it wasn’t.
I thought I would end up liking her. But I didn’t.

Quite honestly, the whole thing was a bit disappointing. Enjoyable, but disappointing.
